استقبل الرئيس عبد الفتاح السيسي اليوم السيد وليد جنبلاط، زعيم الحزب التقدمي الاشتراكي اللبناني، وذلك بحضور السيد سامح شكري وزير الخارجية، والسيد عباس كامل رئيس المخابرات العامة.

وصرح السفير بسام راضي، المتحدث الرسمي باسم رئاسة الجمهورية، بأن السيد الرئيس رحب بلقاء السيد “جنبلاط”، مؤكداً سيادته الاعتزاز بعمق العلاقات الوطيدة بين مصر ولبنان على المستويين الرسمي والشعبي، وحرص مصر على سلامة وأمن واستقرار لبنان، وتحقيق المصالح الوطنية اللبنانية وتجنيب لبنان مخاطر الصراعات في المنطقة، وذلك في إطار الاهتمام المصري الدائم بكل ما فيه مصلحة لبنان وشعبه، ومثمناً الدور البناء والأساسي الذي يقوم به السيد “جنبلاط” للحفاظ على الاستقرار والتوازن في لبنان.
من جانبه؛ أعرب السيد “جنبلاط” عن تشرفه بلقاء السيد الرئيس، مؤكداً حرص لبنان على تعزيز العلاقات التاريخية الوطيدة التي تربط الدولتين الشقيقتين، والتي تقوم على أسس من التضامن والأخوة، ومعرباً عن تقدير بلاده للجهد المصري في دعم لبنان في كافة المجالات، وكذلك كركيزة محورية وضامن أساسي لحفظ الاستقرار بها والمنطقة العربية ككل.
وأوضح المتحدث الرسمي أن اللقاء تناول سبل تعزيز أطر التعاون الثنائي القائمة بين البلدين، بما في ذلك إمكانية الاستفادة من الخبرة المصرية في عدد من المجالات التنموية، كما تم تأكيد أهمية تعزيز علاقات التبادل التجاري بين مصر ولبنان والعمل كذلك على تعظيم حجم الاستثمارات المتبادلة.
كما تطرق اللقاء أيضاً إلى مناقشة الأوضاع في سوريا وتأثيراتها الإقليمية، فضلاً عن آخر تطورات القضية الفلسطينية، حيث تم التوافق بشأن أهمية تضافر الجهود من أجل حلحلة الجمود الراهن في عملية السلام وتسوية القضية الفلسطينية على نحو يلبي تطلعات الشعب الفلسطيني ويضمن حقوقه، كما أكد السيد الرئيس في هذا الصدد ثوابت الموقف المصري الداعم للشعب الفلسطيني في الحصول على حقوقه المشروعة وفق الثوابت والمرجعيات الدولية ذات الصلة، بالإضافة إلى الجهود المصرية الرامية لتحقيق المصالحة الفلسطينية باعتبارها الضمانة الأساسية لوحدة الموقف الفلسطيني، بجانب العمل على تحسين الأوضاع المعيشية بقطاع غزة واستعادة الهدوء في القطاع.
Today, President Abdel Fattah El Sisi met with President of Lebanon’s Progressive Socialist Party, Mr. Walid Jumblatt.
President El Sisi valued the firm and profound relations between Egypt and Lebanon at both the official and popular levels. The President emphasized Egypt’s keenness on the safety, security and stability of Lebanon and on realizing Lebanon’s national interests. He also confirmed that Egypt is keen on Lebanon avoiding the threat of conflicts in the region. President El Sisi valued Mr. Jumblatt’s constructive and key role to maintain the stability and equilibrium in Lebanon.
Mr. Jumblatt confirmed Lebanon’s commitment to enhancing its firm and historic relations with Egypt, which are based on solidarity and brotherly bonds. He expressed his country’s appreciation for Egypt’s efforts in support of Lebanon in all areas and for its position as a cornerstone for maintaining stability in Lebanon and the entire Arab region.
The meeting tackled ways to promote cooperation between the two countries and to benefit from Egypt’s expertise in a multitude of development fields. The discussions underscored the need to strengthen trade relations between Egypt and Lebanon and to boost the size of mutual investments.
The talks also touched on the situation in Syria and its regional ramifications as well as developments in the Palestinian issue. There was an alignment in views with regard to the importance of concerted efforts to break the current impasse in the peace process and to reach a settlement for the Palestinian issue in a way that shall fulfill the aspirations of the Palestinian people and secure their rights. President El Sisi underscored the fundamentals of Egypt’s position in support of the Palestinian people to get their legitimate rights according to the relevant international references and resolutions. The President also highlighted Egypt’s efforts toward reaching Palestinian reconciliation which is the fundamental guarantor for the unity of the Palestinian people. This is in addition to Egypt’s efforts to improve the living conditions in the Gaza Strip and to restore calm in the sector.
